Pattern 4725 Coronation
The blue chequer version is more easy to find than the orange colourway, but one thing in common with both patterns is the restricted number of shapes used for Coronation Ware. Apart from the usual chargers, only modern shapes were used for vases and jugs with no shape number less than 192 seen. Also, mugs, beakers, ashtray sets and small plates were very popular.

The key dates for estimating when production occurred for each cypher are that Edward became King on 20th January 1936, he abdicated on 11th December 1936 and the coronation of George was on 12th May 1937.
